Inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to 30S and possibly 50S ribosomal subunits. Tetracycline has anti-inflammatory activity. You can administer 250-500 mg orally twice daily.

Minocycline is a minocycline-based oral suspension used to treat infections caused by susceptible gram-negative and gram-positive organisms, as well as infections caused by susceptible Chlamydia, Rickettsia, and lebanon email list Mycoplasma species. The brand name Solodyn is an extended-release formulation indicated for acne and prescribed at a dose of 1 mg/kg daily. The dose of minocycline should be reduced in patients with renal impairment.

Inhibits bacterial growth, possibly by blocking the dissociation of peptidyl tRNA from ribosomes, causing RNA-dependent protein synthesis to stop. Commonly prescribed for acne as a topical gel in combination with benzoyl peroxide. Limited use due to resistant strains of C acnes. Apply bid after washing and patting skin dry.

Antibiotic with activity against many gram-positive and gram-negative organisms. Inhibits bacterial growth by inhibiting synthesis of dihydrofolic acid. Available as 80 mg trimethoprim and 400 mg sulfamethoxazole or as 160 mg trimethoprim and 800 mg sulfamethoxazole (double strength).
