At SiteGround, some people work in the office, some from home, and some alternate between the two. In fact, we like to call ourselves a remote-friendly team, because of the many colleagues we have around the world. We usually use Slack, Hangouts, and Zoom to communicate with each other, but once a year, for a couple of days, we try to get everyone together for the SiteGround Team Festival. It's a special way to create unique bonds, which makes us a better, stronger, and more productive team.
Like the previous two editions, our 3rd SiteGround Team Festival was based on the values that have united us since 2004. They continue to be the invisible thread that binds us and keeps us close, even if we are far from each other. What are they? Craftsmanship, attention to detail, empathy, mutual support and joy. We build our work on these values every day. We develop services that allow our customers to experience and improve the creation and growth of their websites. We share skills and know-how on a daily basis and we do it with passion. We love our work and this allows us to develop better products. And it all starts with our people.
Let's make room for sharing
We love sharing our skills and knowledge, even if it’s just about our hobbies. At each team building, the agenda is filled with workshops designed and led exclusively by our team members. This year, one of our Project Managers, Iskra, who has been creating her own natural cosmetics for a long time, taught us all how to make homemade cosmetics. Our Head of Developers Mihail showed us his method of brewing craft beer. We also learned how to build bird houses thanks to Raya, our Affiliate Team Manager, while supporting the National Bird Society.

Craftsmanship and creativity
We have always maintained that everything we do at SiteGround is handcrafted. Just new zealand mobile database like we develop our own hosting tools, we designed and built the entire festival area, activity space, and stage from scratch! We also ran several “craft stations” during the festival, such as the sculpture-making station. Not to mention our own set of temporary tattoos custom-designed for the event.
Work-life balance
We firmly believe that you do your best when you feel your best, so we encourage all our team members to sit less, move more and live more active lives all year round.
In the months leading up to the festival, we ran what we call the GetFit Challenge. It’s a company-wide initiative that aims to get people, in groups of four, to commit to consistent physical activity. This year, more than 30 teams participated. Together, they ran and cycled a total of 19,800 km and completed 1,087 workouts – all in one month! To keep the momentum going, we kicked off each day of the festival with yoga and workout sessions led by our team members and had several on-site tournaments like tennis, soccer, and even paintball. Before moving on to the evening festivities, we held an awards ceremony for the teams with the most impressive results from the SiteGround GetFit Challenge.
