Advocacy and lobbying in the context of Institutional and Governmental Relations

Post by soniya55531 »

Both advocacy and lobbying are essential tools for the work of Institutional and Government Relations (IGR) professionals. Although it is often believed that advocacy is practiced through only one of them, it is important to emphasize that the two concepts are complementary and fundamental to the exercise of the activity.

When developing a plan to defend the interests of a group, whether in the public or private sphere, the RIG professional can bring elements of advocacy to strengthen and improve the various stages of their bahrain mobile database work, especially regarding the ability to mobilize causes, so that the dissemination of their agenda gains strength and becomes fuel to pressure decision-making and exercise their power of influence.

It is worth remembering that, in Brazil, lobbying activity was regulated, under the title of RIG, only in 2018 and that the topic still raises great discussions, especially regarding the recognition of its legitimacy – an important step for the exercise of the profession in the country.

In any case, being of utmost importance to society, both lobbying and advocacy represent the opportunity to take social interests to the Public Authorities and, with this, build a more plural and participatory model of democracy, since the actors carry the voice of those they represent and have the power to transmit it to those who decide the future of the country.
