Did you know that the month of September is chosen to symbolize the struggle of hearing impaired people?
Blue September is the Month of Visibility of the Brazilian Deaf Community. And do you know why blue?
The story isn't very pretty, actually. In Nazi Germany, a blue scarf was tied around the arms of deaf people to identify them, and they were sent straight to concentration camps, where they would be exterminated. That's why the color blue was chosen to honor all the deaf people who died during World War II.
This year, as a tribute, TV Cultura and TV Rá Tim Bum will be showing “Min bosnia and herzegovina phone number data and the Little Hands” during their programming. The animation is all in Libras and aims to give visibility and ensure fun for children in the deaf community, in addition to teaching hearing people who can also learn from the cartoon.
Min is a deaf girl who communicates through Brazilian Sign Language. By following her routine, the audience gets to know the experiences, challenges and curiosities in the life of a deaf person.
Paulo Henrique Rodrigues, the show's creator and animator, says that his goal is to show Sign Language as a language that overcomes communication barriers. “By learning this new language, they can communicate without fear and become increasingly friendly, in a more understanding and inclusive society,” he says in a statement.
