1. You are not bound to any schedule
You no longer have to work from 9am to 2pm and from 3pm to 6pm. Nope, that's over! As a freelancer, instead of 8 hours a day you can work 20. Much better!

It's a real bummer, isn't it? It's a real bummer when you're immersed in work, enjoying being productive and giving up your personal life for the sake of capitalism, when suddenly it's 6pm and you have to pack up and go home to do tedious tasks like having friends, family or LIVING.

And be careful, that's not all. By designing your own schedules... you can also work on weekends! Not everyone can say this. I, for one, am writing this on a Sunday. Envy, eh? Well, that's it.

2. You can work from anywhere
If your activity allows it, one of the advantages of being self-employed is that you are no longer obliged to physically go to the office from Monday to Friday. Every day you can work from a different place: New York, Paris or, as in my case, from the sofa at home while watching TV. That's where the term TELEworking comes from. (You're welcome for this valuable knowledge)

This huge advantage not only prevents you from interacting with coworkers who haven't showered since VHS tapes were all the rage or from having your sandwich stolen from the office fridge with a post-it that says 'DO NOT TOUCH UNLESS IT'S ME' on it, but it also allows you to be more productive. For example, if you break your leg, you can continue working from your bed or even from the hospital.
