French President skype phone number data Emmanuel Macron has revealed that the reconstruction of the spire of Notre-Dame Cathedral will follow the original design.
The reconstruction of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, France, continues following the fire that broke out in April 2019.
French President Emmanuel Macron announced the decision to retain the original design of the cathedral's spire after a meeting with France's National Commission for Heritage and Architecture (CNPA). He also said the intention is to complete the reconstruction by 2024, before the opening of the Paris Olympic Games.
The Plataforma Arquitectura website indicates that, despite speculation about Macron's idea of considering redesigning the spire, the decision was ultimately made to keep the original design: “the architect Philippe Villeneuve had already revealed in June that the spire designed by Viollet-le-Duc would be rebuilt along its original lines. The more conservationist groups were also pushing for the spire to be rebuilt using traditional techniques, applying the principles of the Venice Charter.”
The news of the fire at one of the French capital's historic monuments shocked the population. However, it is not the only important building to have suffered such destruction. Some of them are: the La Fenice Theatre in Venice (Italy), the Hamburg City Hall (Germany), the San Francisco City Hall (United States) and the Gran Teatro del Liceu in Barcelona (Spain), among others.
FUNIBER sponsors numerous university programs focused on offering professionals all the information in the field of architecture and urban planning, such as, for example, how to carry out a reconstruction process based on the original structure. One of the courses offered is the Master's Degree in Architecture and Urban Planning Projects .
