Whether on the beach in Ibiza, at a lake in the Alps or on a road trip through Southeast Asia: 9 out of 10 Germans (87 percent) who are going on summer vacation this year want to send greetings to family and friends at home from there - and increasingly digitally . More than one in two (56 percent) use messengers such as WhatsApp or Telegram for this purpose.

This is the result of a representative survey conducted by the digital association Bitkom among 1,003 German citizens aged 16 and over.

"Today it is easier than ever to let others share in your trip. Photos and videos can be shared quickly and easily via messenger. This not only conveys snapshots, but also emotions. This applies to friends and family as well as to hundreds of followers to whom you can send your holiday greetings in this way," says Lisa Kinne, Bitkom's tourism consultant.
