If you're looking for a to-do list tool, I'm guessing you want to simplify your business and personal life. After all, no one ever said, "I need to get organized. Let me find the most complicated to-do list tool."

Both Todoist and Microsoft To-Do have this in mind when they created their apps. There's not much fluff here, just open them up and start adding tasks to your list.

Microsoft To-Do feels almost sterile, especially in these early stages. Expect a bit more as you add tasks and the app matures. (Wunderlist's predecessor has an ease-of-use rating of 5/5 based on over 100 reviews in the Platforms directory. Have you used Wunderlist? Leave a review!)

Todoist has an ease of use rating of 4.5/5 on the Platforms directory, based on over 80 reviews. (Have you used Todoist? Leave a review!)

Some might argue that Todoist has more features and is therefore a bit more complex.

Bottom line: You won't get lost using either app, but if how does cash app work you were looking for one to recommend to your tech-averse grandma, Microsoft To-Do might be a little easier.

3. Popularity
Todoist has over five million users.

Given that Office 365 has an install base of over 85 million users, Microsoft To-Do is present on more devices than Todoist (though those users don't necessarily use the To-Do app).

Even before it was acquired by Microsoft, Wunderlist had over 13 million users.

On social media, Todoist has over 35,000 followers on Twitter and over 31,000 likes on Facebook .

but they have a To-Do Help account with 2,300+ followers, and their Facebook account has over 1,300 likes. (Wunderlist has nearly 68,000 Twitter followers and over 76,000 likes on Facebook .)

Bottom line: Wunderlist was the more popular option before the Microsoft acquisition, but Todoist has made significant progress while Microsoft To-Do is finding its footing.

4. Features
Putting aside things like collaboration and subtasks, which were standard in Wunderlist but are still moving into Microsoft To-Do, each app has a standout feature that makes it unique.

For Todoist, it’s gamification. With every task you complete, you earn karma points. You earn extra karma when you reach individual daily and weekly goals. When you earn enough points, you level up, moving from Beginner to Enlightened.
