Rotten Tomatoes Score : 95%
Film premise : Given a license to kill, James Bond heads to Madagascar to spy on Mollaka, a freelance terrorist. In doing so, he uncovers a link between a terrorist cell and Le Chiffre, the terrorists' financier. After learning that Le Chiffre plans to recoup the money he lost short-selling shares, Bond, under the direction of MI6, makes a bet that he alone can bring down Le Chiffre's organization.
Laughter is better than sarcasm : At one point in the film, Le Chiffre ties a naked James Bond to a chair without a seat and starts beating him with a thick rope. In the face of torture, Bond decides to make light of the situation: he instructs Le Chiffre on how to beat him properly. In fact, screaming in pain would only make things worse - and this is true in project management too. Pretend, even if your project is far from perfect. It will benefit everyone around you.
3. Chicken Little (2000)
Rotten Tomatoes Score : 97%
Movie Premise : No one wants to eat dinner, including moj database Rocky the Rooster and Ginger the Chicken. Knowing they both face certain death, they rally their fellow chickens to escape Tweedy Village before they are turned into pies.
Inspire : "There's a better place over the hill!" says Ginger, pointing toward Tweedy's territory. Not everyone is convinced. Rocky chuckles: "There's a one in a million chance of escaping from here." This only encourages Ginger, who ends the conversation with, "Then there's still a chance."
Some projects seem insurmountable, and if your teammates don’t have support, there’s no chance your project will succeed. First, believe in yourself that the impossible is possible, then find the nuggets of opportunity and use those details to shape the vision for the rest of your team.
4. Die Hard (1988)
Rotten Tomatoes Score : 92%
Movie Premise : When German terrorist Hans Gruber takes Holly Gennaro and others hostage at a Los Angeles Christmas party, he's unprepared to face John McClane. Desperate to save his estranged wife and with no way to contact backup, the NYPD officer is forced to take matters into his own hands.
There's charisma in caring : John McClane isn't about to give up his job in Holly, California, and the terrorists are...damn it. Without passion, it's impossible to be a leader, especially without technical expertise. Luckily, he has both, which makes you, the viewer, root for him as he saves the day. Project managers, take note. If you liked Die Hard, you probably liked it in part because of McClane's commitment to his project. Demonstrate the same leadership when you work with your team.
