Much of this value ($100 billion) will likely come from innovations in process design using various AI applications in China, such as collaborative robotics that are creating the next generation assembly line, and digital twins that replicate real-world assets for use in simulation and optimization engines.

With digital twins, manufacturers, equipment and robotics suppliers, and automation system providers can simulate, test, and validate manufacturing process outcomes, such as product yield or production line performance, before committing to large-scale production so they can identify costly process inefficiencies early on.

AI in China: Home to many tech giants and AI-related businesses, Shenzhen is currently stepping up efforts to develop its high-tech sector.
One local electronics manufacturer uses wearable sensors to capture belize email address and digitize workers’ hand and body movements to simulate human work on its production line. It then optimizes equipment settings and adjustments, such as changing the angle of each workstation based on the worker’s height, to reduce the likelihood of injury while increasing worker comfort and productivity.

The remaining value creation in this sector ($15 billion) is expected to come from AI-enabled improvements in product development. Companies can use digital twins to quickly test and validate new product designs to reduce R&D costs, improve product quality, and drive innovation in new products.

AI in China: To achieve its goal of becoming China's AI and technology hub, Shenzhen is set to invest more than 700 billion yuan (US$108 billion) in high-tech research and development between 2021 and 2025.
On the world stage, Google has shown what’s possible: It’s used AI to quickly assess how different component arrangements will change power consumption, performance, and chip size. This approach can deliver optimal chip designs in far less time than it would take design engineers alone.
