Big Data Regulation Act
The State Duma adopted the law on big data in the 2nd and 3rd readings. The document is an amendment to the Law "On Personal Data" and is dedicated to regulating the circulation of big (depersonalized data). The document was developed by the Government. The document was submitted to the State Duma back in 2022, it was approved in the 1st reading in 2021, but then the document underwent major changes.
It is assumed that the Ministry of Digital Development will form the composition of personal data that personal data operators (organizations that have personal data of Russians) will have to share. The cases when the composition of such data should be formed will be determined by the Government. The data must also be grouped.
