Online sales are constantly growing and having a high-performance e-commerce is increasingly important. In this post I wanted to make you think about the importance of integrating a good search system into your e-commerce to avoid losing sales.
ecommerce product search
Studies show that many e-commerce users declare having had one or more unsuccessful search experiences within them. It is interesting to note how consequently almost half of the visitors tend to move away from the site in search of alternative solutions. Finally, over 70% of users even state that they will not return in the future to sites where they have had problems.
These are data that scare any online seller, especially if we think about how much effort is made to bring visitors to their site. I am referring to social campaigns , ADW investments, newsletters , remarketing scotland email list and much more. All tools that have a cost per visit, often significant and all money that will be lost if the visitor does not convert.
We have seen that internal search of a site is an aspect not to be underestimated, let's now try to understand why visitors abandon your e-commerce. The problem is not in the availability of the items or in the catalog itself, but in the search experience!
Using a site where the search system does not understand the user input or the results page does not match what the visitor is looking for is extremely frustrating.
It may also happen that there are too few selection filters, the search returns too many results, or takes too long to provide them.
In short, from the studies conducted it appears evident that search systems unable to provide valuable results tend to make our users live a negative experience.
