Insights to get you started right away

Sentiment analysis by topic
To really be useful, feedback, tweets and Facebook comments need to be broken down into the different topics that are mentioned. Furthermore, the sentiment analysis needs to be applied to each specific topic that is mentioned. After doing such a sentiment analysis per topic, the analysis for the previously mentioned example would look like this:

“This month, brand X was mentioned by 4,000 people. Last month, that was 3,500. 2,400 of them commented on the price of brand X – 60% made a negative comment about the price, compared to 30% a month earlier. Women were more dissatisfied with the advertising for brand X than men. In France, there is a lot of concern about the environmental impact of brand X.”

This type of analysis provides a company with many more insights to work with right away, for example:

1. Investigate why there was such a large increase in dissatisfaction with the price of brand X: did we increase the price, and if so, did that negatively impact sales?

2. Look in more detail at the most recent advertising campaigns and investigate why they might not be appreciated by women. What is the background to this? How can the situation be rectified?

3. Evaluate the environmental impact of brand X. Do consumers in France perhaps have a wrong perception of the situation, and should we therefore launch an informative marketing saudi arabia phone data campaign there? Or are their concerns justified and should we look at how the impact could possibly be reduced?

It goes without saying that this kind of detailed sentiment analysis is technically much more complicated. It can take years to develop these kinds of automated analysis methods, and there are only a handful of companies in the market that can deliver this level of insight.

Insights that lead directly to action
The role of social media in maintaining customer contacts is becoming increasingly important for most companies. To take full advantage of this, you need to gain insights that can be acted upon immediately. To do this, it is necessary to know in detail which aspects of your product or service customers comment on positively or negatively. This requires advanced analysis techniques that go a step further than just sentiment analysis at the brand name, product or hashtag level.
