General Law on Disability (LGD) in easy reading

The General Law on Disability (LGD), also known as the 2% Law (formerly LISMI) already has a second edition, in easy reading, promoted by the Ministry of Health, Consumption and Social Welfare.

The Royal Board on Disability has published a second version of its guide on the rights of people with disabilities using the easy-to-read technique, aimed at people with disabilities who need it and other segments of the population who have difficulties or are not familiar with legal terminology.

What is easy reading?
Easy reading is a writing technique aimed at people with reading comprehension difficulties and, in this case, allows LGD to be brought closer to its most direct beneficiaries: people with disabilities.

In a simplified and adapted way, the guide aims to make the standard more understandable and accessible to people who, otherwise, would not consider reading it.

It addresses numerous aspects that directly affect them, such as health protection, social and economic benefits, education, work or participation in public affairs, among others, and constitutes an empowerment tool to achieve a full life.
