Celebrate with us: Tuta Mail turns ten today!

Ten years ago we released the first beta version of Tutanota (now Tuta Mail), the privacy-friendly, security-focused, open-source email alternative. Our mission hasn’t changed since the beginning: stop state and corporate surveillance!
On this very special day we are pleased to celebrate that Tuta(note) was not only the first fully encrypted email provider back in the day, but Tuta Mail is also today the night clubs and bars email list first email service in the world to have employed quantum-resistant cryptography .
With this recent update, we protect your data from prying eyes not only now, but also from the threat of “Collect Now, Decrypt Later.” This major advancement in cryptography once again demonstrates our mission: to build the most secure communication tool to curb the growing trends of online surveillance.
Alongside this achievement, we have another reason to celebrate: The German government has just published a draft law that includes the “right to encryption.” Once this law is passed, it will be a game-changer for your online security, as the German government will require email providers, messaging apps, and other cloud services to offer end-to-end encryption to their users.
This is incredible news and we would like to applaud the German government for taking a step in the right direction and protecting citizens' right to privacy.
How Tutanota started
At Tuta we are a growing team of about 30 freedom fighters committed to building a better web, but it all started much smaller: with just four people in 2014.
Ten years ago Matthias, Hanna, Bernd and Arne published Tutanota, the world's first encrypted email client.
