Another Inbound Christmas Story – The Kodak Spectre

Post by bitheerani22010 »

Free and inbound adaptation of Charles Dickens' novel "A Christmas Carol."

"Can it be done?" Ivan came into Ramon's office with a great proposal to make a special Christmas campaign to wish Compaware's clients and collaborators a Merry Christmas. He had been working on it all day and finally he had something good that was worth putting into action.

For the past 5 days he had been busy making cold calls to over 200 companies from a list that Ramón, the manager of Compaware, had given him, and until today, December 24, he had not been able to prepare anything. "We are very late," thought Ivan, so he decided to focus on the day of the Three Kings with an emotional and social campaign.

“Tell me, Ivan, have you finished the calls yet?” asked Ramon. “I hope you managed to sell enough to justify your salary.”

Ivan tried not to pay much attention to his boss's dark humour. "I have a brazil phone number library to wish our clients a Merry Christmas. It's a bit of a daring idea, but I'm sure they'll love it and it will help us improve our relationship with them."

"Bad. When you come like that it's to ask for money. How much will it cost me?"

«Well, I reckon 250 euros at most, but…»

"Forget it, I'll do a PowerPoint greeting card in 5 minutes and then I'll send it to the clients when I have time," Ramón interrupted. "You focus on selling, we have to close the year and we're 10,000 euros short of our budget."

At that moment the phone rang. “You can go now, I have a call to take.”

Ivan left the office halfway between anger and despair, and promised himself never to take the initiative in this enterprise again.

Ramón answered the phone: "Hello?"

«Hi Ramón, how are you? I'm Alicia from Clientalia. I'm calling because the new administrator has mistakenly deleted information from the system and we urgently need it to close the year. I need you to help us recover the data.»

Alicia had been one of Compaware’s best customers since the beginning, but now she was going through a rough patch and only had basic maintenance contracted. “I’m sorry Alicia, but right now I have the whole team busy and I can’t help you.”

"But if we don't fix it, we'll have to recover all the data by hand again. We'll be working non-stop until New Year's Eve. Can't you find a slot for me?"

“Impossible. If you at least had premium support I could try something, but with what you pay I can’t dedicate even one more resource to you,” Ramon insisted. “I’m sorry, but I’m very busy.”
