How to create a Google My Business listing

Step 1: Log in to Google Business Profile
You must have a Google account to use Google Business Profile: feel free to create one if you haven't already.

I recommend not using your personal Google account for this, as you may need to give other people access to your Google Business Profile. Instead, use a dedicated business account (you wouldn't want anyone seeing your Reddit notifications, would you?).

Step 2: Add your business information
Once logged in, Google Business Profile will ask you to enter your business name and type of business. Enter them and click Continue .

You can sign up for Google Business Profile if you sell directly to customers online,iceland phone number data have a physical location, or provide a local service to your customers. Indicate here if you have a brick-and-mortar location. Once you've made your selection, click Next .

If you didn't provide a physical address, Google will ask you to specify the region you're based in. Choose your location from the drop-down menu and click Next .

Step 5: Add contact information
You can add a website and/or phone number. These will be publicly visible on your business profile.

Step 6: Get your business validated
Even if you don't have a physical establishment, you must provide a mailing address to validate your business.

You can then choose to receive a verification code via SMS or record a short video showing you working on your business, proving that you do indeed own a company.

I don't know why anyone would choose this second option over a simple code sent over the phone, but of course, it's up to you!

Being verified allows you to publicly respond to customer reviews, use messaging features, and more.

Step 7: Optimize your profile
Now add any additional information that will help you get the most out of your listing. All of this information is optional, but if it applies to your business, feel free to provide it.

You can add:

Your opening hours
A chat feature, which allows users to send you a message directly from the Google results list
Your company description
Photos
Customizing your profile and adding opening hours
