【SEO Lab】The impact of external page links on rankings

Post by nurnobi40 »

There are many basic principles to follow in SEO operations. If some of these principles are not met, your website score may be low and even your ranking may deteriorate.

One of the principles that all SEO operators in the industry know is

Do not place links to other domains on your website (for ease of description, referred to as: page links)

Because the page is linked externally, your weight score will be lost to other morocco mobile database websites, and your website ranking will be lost after the first page.

Although principles are an important factor in successful SEO operations, many principles are likely to change as search engine algorithms continue to change.
Qibao's engineers are not willing to fall into the rut and are always conducting new experiments to understand the heart of search engines.
Today, I will introduce a recent experiment conducted by Qibao optimization engineers - whether external page links will still affect website rankings and weight.

Assumptions of this experiment:

SEO engineers assume that external page links will cause the page weight to decrease, or the page bounce rate to increase, which will cause the page's keyword ranking to decrease.
The design of this experiment:
1. Add 1~2 external links to the operation page
2. Make external links as obvious as possible, and do not exclude users from clicking them
3. Don’t use nofollow
4. Link to high-authority pages (school official website, Wikipedia)

After two months, the overall word ranking has not changed. The following is a record of other data:

In conclusion, the bounce rate has indeed increased. On the other hand, the weight ranking of Site is as follows:

The weight rankings of the pages in these three experiments have improved in the overall website, that is, the weight scores have increased.
We have collected statistics on all pages with added links, and found that the average site ranking can be improved by 15 to 18 places.

The current results of the experiment:
1. External page links will not affect the site weight, and may even increase it
2. The bounce rate caused by external page links will not affect the ranking.
3. Backward links can be directed to "content-related" and "authoritative" websites.

However, there are still many factors that can be taken into consideration in the current experiment, and the number of samples needs to be increased.
Therefore, the above conclusions are still at this stage and further experiments are needed.
If there are any follow-up results, we will share them with you!
