Developers have implemented Play Protect in Google Play services
Google has decided to improve the overall security level of the Android mobile platform by adding a new Play Protect screen to all Android devices that use Google Mobile Services 11 or later. The new tool can be found in the settings menu (Google section, Security tab, Verify apps item). The company's message says that the service will soon appear in the Play Market and replace the Google Verify Apps function.
The protection feature will be required to check apps for security issues and malicious code. A “Verified with Google Play Protect” badge will also be added to individual app lists. The safe browsing option will warn the user when they try to visit a suspicious site in the Chrome browser.
Applications are checked automatically. The user will malta mobile database notifications about all detected risks. In addition, Google has moved the Find My Device service to Play Protect, which allows you to locate the device, block it, call it, or delete all data from it.
The issue of Android device protection is more relevant than ever. Researchers from the Georgia Institute of Technology, USA, have created a software tool to bypass antiviruses designed to protect the Android OS. The tool was named AVPass. During tests conducted with the help of the VirusTotal malware detection service, AVPass was able to fool almost all of the 58 antiviruses that participated in the experiment. The tool generates fake virus fragments and sends them to the antivirus for verification, thus collecting data on its operation.
