Singer Margareth Menezes has been announced as Minister of Culture in the government of President-elect Lula. The ministry was recreated after being transformed into the Special Secretariat of the Ministry of Tourism during the government of Jair Bolsonaro.

Born in 1962, in Salvador, Bahia, Margareth Menezes began her musical career singing in the church choir and later in bars in the city.
